H and P statements
The full list of hazard statements (H), EU supplemental hazard statements (EUH) and precautionary statements (P) under the CLP Regulation, in the official wording of Annexes III and IV.
How the codes work
CLP Art. 21, Annex III
H – hazard statements
Describe the nature of the hazard. H2xx physical, H3xx health, H4xx environmental hazards. Each hazard class and category has its own statement.
CLP Art. 25, Annex III
EUH – supplemental
EU-only statements for properties or label elements not covered by the GHS, for example EUH014 “Reacts violently with water”.
CLP Art. 22, Annex IV
P – precautionary statements
Recommend measures. P1xx general, P2xx prevention, P3xx response, P4xx storage, P5xx disposal. Combined codes are joined with “+”.Statements appear on the label and in subsection 2.2 of the safety data sheet. They must be used in the exact wording of the language of the label. Text in angle brackets or with “…” is completed by the supplier. Section 16 of the SDS lists the full text of all statements not written out in sections 2 to 15.
